Dr Jai Prakash Verma

Big Data Analytics Research Group Guide

Dr Verma has 19+ years of experience in Academics, professional development, and research in the field of Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Currently working as an Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department. He has been associating with the department since July 2006. His research interests include Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, and Machine Learning. He has been contributing to the research in the area of said domain with several publications in international conferences and journals. He is a recognized PhD guide at Nirma University and currently guiding one PhD scholar. He is actively involved in conducting various training programs as customized training on Big Data Analytics to Naval officers at INS Valsura, Indian Navy, and SAC-ISRO, Ahmedabad. 

 

Smiti Kothari & Jayneel Shah

Big Data Analytics Research Group Founders
Former Group Leads (2023-2024)

Smiti and Jayneel are the leads of Big Data Analytics Research Group. They are assisting eight students with the development of their research projects in domains of Geospatial Science and Machine Learning. They have worked on the ISRO Respond Research project which was based on Raster Big Data Processing using Spark with Geotrellis. The research paper for the same has been accepted to the 2nd International Conference on Computing, Communication and Learning(COCOLE)-2023 to be organized by the National Institute of Technology, Warangal for presentation. Smiti worked as an intern at Northern Trust and Jayneel worked as an intern at PayPal in the Summer of 2023.

Aashna and Prachita are the leads of Big Data Analytics Research Group. With their experience in the domains of Geospatial Science and Machine Learning, they are assisting their team with their projects. They are currently working on a coastal management project which aims to aid areas at high risk of coastal erosion.
